Design for Disability - General Alterations
Your home will often need some serious renovations, both big and small, inside and out.
The most common works that we carry out are to:
- Doorways, which usually measure approximately 24" wide. To accommodate a wheelchair they need to be widened to a minimum 34-36". Widening a typical doorframe will take approximately two working days.
- Ramps which are available bespoke in wood, concrete or metal with a range of rubber and carpet finish.
- We supply flooring in a wide variety of ranges with medium and short pile carpeting, linoleum and non slip polyfloor surfaces.
- Windows can be supplied and fitted in either UPVC or wood, most popularly in a casement design with crank lifts.
- Electrical furnishings with larger rocker style switches for power and lights located 1000mm from the floor.
All alterations made include full renovation, plasterwork, decoration and certification (Part P and Corgi).
